DGateway

DGateway is the unified payment gateway for African businesses. It lets developers integrate MTN MoMo, Airtel Money, and other mobile money rails into any app or website through a single signed API. It also doubles as a Gumroad-style storefront where creators sell courses and digital products with mobile-money checkout — the same platform powering payment for hundreds of small businesses in Uganda. The project required a deep understanding of the domain and a meticulous approach to user experience design. We needed to build something that was not only visually stunning but also incredibly fast and reliable at scale.

We built DGateway on Desishub's Grit Framework — a Go API backend, a Next.js admin dashboard, and a developer-facing REST API + SDK. The platform exposes one signed endpoint that handles MTN MoMo and Airtel Money collection and disbursement, manages payment links, and powers a courses + digital products marketplace. Idempotency keys, webhook signing, retries, and AES-256 encryption are baked in. Live volume in the dashboard is climbing weekly as new apps integrate.
