Why This Program is Different

Most internships in Uganda hand you a printer to fix and a chair in a corner. Ours hands you a laptop, a GitHub login, and a real client task on day one.

Real Production Work

You'll commit code that ships to real clients — not toy projects or tutorial clones. Every line you write is reviewed by senior engineers.

1:1 Senior Mentorship

Paired with a Desishub senior developer who reviews your PRs, answers questions, and shapes your growth path week by week.

Recognized Certificate

Industrial Training Certificate accepted by universities across Uganda for attachment and field-work credits.

Hire-Ready Portfolio

Leave the program with 3–5 production-grade projects on GitHub, a polished resume, and a working LinkedIn presence.

Self-Taught Developers

Code of Conduct

Do's & Don'ts

Read this before you apply. These are non-negotiable — they keep the program serious and the cohort high quality.

Do's

  • Arrive by 8:00 AM sharp — punctuality is non-negotiable
  • Bring your laptop, charger, and notebook every day
  • Push code to GitHub at the end of every day
  • Ask questions early — there are no stupid questions, only stuck students
  • Help your fellow interns. Teaching cements your own learning
  • Treat client work as confidential — never share code outside the program
  • Notify your mentor and the program lead in advance if you must miss a day
  • Dress smart casual — you'll be on calls with real clients
  • Take notes daily and keep a learning journal
  • Use Slack/Discord for all program communication, not WhatsApp DMs
  • Show up for mentorship sessions prepared with specific questions
  • Embrace code reviews — feedback is a gift, not an attack

Don'ts

  • Don't be late — repeated lateness leads to dismissal from the program
  • Don't copy-paste solutions from ChatGPT without understanding them
  • Don't share client codebases, credentials, or designs publicly
  • Don't use the office Wi-Fi for streaming, torrents, or personal downloads
  • Don't bring alcohol, cigarettes, or any drugs to the workspace
  • Don't ghost — communicate openly if you're struggling or want to leave
  • Don't argue with mentors during code review. Listen first, discuss later
  • Don't promise clients work or timelines on your own — escalate first
  • Don't browse social media during lecture and lab hours
  • Don't skip the daily commit — even a small PR keeps the rhythm
  • Don't disrespect your fellow interns based on background or skill level
  • Don't expect to be hired automatically — earn it through visible work
Strike PolicyThree documented violations of the Don'ts list result in dismissal from the program with no refund. We take this seriously because real clients and your cohort depend on it.
